GlasPort Bio (www.glasportbio.com), has been hailed as a ‘game changer’ by judges, as it recently was awarded the inaugural InterTradeIreland Seedcorn Sustainability/Low Carbon award, along with a €20,000 bursary.
GlasPort Bio’s innovative technology, GasAbate, which tackles agricultural emissions at source, was awarded the prestigious Irish Times Innovation Award for Sustainability in March 2022
Galway-based GlasPort Bio has developed GasAbate which acts on the microorganisms that cause methane and other polluting gases when it is added periodically to stored slurry and manure. The biotechnology company has now been awarded €2.5m in European Union funding to complete the product’s development to the point of market launch.

Veteran British broadcaster and documentary maker David Attenborough.
